FlyHoliday Airlines the better way to fly!

FlyHoliday, founded in August 2022 in Paderborn and rebranded under new ownership in November 2022, has since operated as an independent virtual holiday airline of NordFly Group Airlines.

As a certified IVAO and VATSIM airline, it has been represented in the virtual skies ever since.

Discover new destinations with us…

Fly with FlyHoliday to attractive holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, Africa, America and Asia or use our domestic German routes to take guests to our hubs, from where they can continue their journey on holiday.

We offer you a choice of over 1,400 bookable flights to 112 holiday destinations, with the flight schedule alternating between summer and winter.

No typerating restrictions

We at FlyHoliday are convinced that everyone should fly the aircraft they know best.

That is why we do not have a type-dependent fleet availability. This gives you the freedom to choose and fly your favourite aircraft directly after registration.

Tours & Destination of the Month

We offer you tours that change according to the flight schedule and take you around our destinations in the Mediterranean region and North Africa. Finally, you will receive an award for successfully completing a tour.

Every month there is a selected Destination of the Month, for which you will receive an award.

5 free flights per month | Online free flights

5 times a month, we leave the choice up to you.
You choose the start and destination of your flight yourself.

You want to fly online with a NordFly pilot? No problem!
Joint flights on the network are possible without limitation.

NordFly Group Airlines | Discord Server

Our Discord server is the beating heart of our community. This is where all NordFly Group Airlines pilots come together to exchange ideas, share screenshots, take part in the screenshot contest, plan flights together, take part in events or simply chat in the evenings.

Thanks to our strong community, you can usually get support and help with questions or problems within a few minutes.

Event group flights

Take part in group flights together with our NordFly Group Airlines community, receive an award for doing so and socialise with other pilots.

Our event group flights take place online on the VATSIM network, so that we not only fly together, but also see each other.

No hub binding | No financial system

At FlyHoliday we do not have a hub connection.
This means that if you fly to Faro today, you don’t necessarily have to take off from Faro again. We leave that up to you!

FlyHoliday also does not use a digital financial system because we are convinced that this does not generate any added value.

High quality liveries

FlyHoliday places great emphasis on premium liveries, which are created by our experienced designer and developer, Rick van Dijck.

Through professional collaboration and a constant commitment to quality, we have already invested thousands of euros in our liveries to meet the highest standards on platforms such as XPlane, MSFS, as well as IVAO MTL, XCSL, and VATSIM FSLTL.

Screenshot contest

Once a month, the picture with the most likes is chosen as the screenshot of the month.

The pilot receives an award for this and the best 10 images are presented here on our website.

Modern OperationCenter

The OperationsCenter is the heart of our virtual airline. Here, you can organize your flights, find our SOPs and statistics, book tours, and download software and liveries.

Equipped with all the necessary tools, such as SimBrief integration for route planning, the OperationsCenter provides you with a seamless and exciting flight experience within our community.

NordFly Group Airlines

NordFly Group Airlines is a virtually operated aviation group consisting of NordFly, NordFly Cargo, and FlyHoliday Airlines. Each airline has its own concept: NordFly as a premium carrier, NordFly Cargo as a freight carrier, and FlyHoliday as a holiday airline. As a pilot for FlyHoliday, you benefit from the opportunity to fly interchangeably for other airlines within the group.

  • FOUNDATION FLYHOLIDAY-AIRLINES

    FOUNDATION FLYHOLIDAY-AIRLINES

On August 31, the virtual airline FlyHoliday-Airlines was founded in Paderborn, Germany. The appearance concept of the airline was based on the branding of sonnenklar.tv. The airline operates charter and vacation flights within Europe, flying mainly to destinations in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and the Middle East.

  • FIRST RE-BRANDING

    FIRST RE-BRANDING

The first re-branding of the airline took place at the beginning of November, after several notices to the CEO at the time that the sonnenklar.tv brand was protected.

  • WITHDRAWAL OF THE FOUNDER – ADMISSION TO NORDFLY

WITHDRAWAL OF THE FOUNDER – ADMISSION TO NORDFLY

At the end of November, the founder and CEO abruptly withdrew and was henceforth unavailable. A few weeks later, FlyHoliday became part of the NordFly family and has since operated as an independent virtual vacation sister airline.

  • COOPERATION ATTEMPT – CANCELLATION

    COOPERATION ATTEMPT – CANCELLATION

Immediately an attempt was made to bring the virtual airline FlyHoliday into official cooperation with sonnenklar.tv and Euvia Travel GmbH and to return to the original branding. After initially positive discussions with the responsible parties, a cancellation was surprisingly made at the beginning of December 2022, much to everyone’s frustration.

  • SECOND RE-BRANDING

    SECOND RE-BRANDING

In mid-December 2022, the virtual airline FlyHoliday was re-branded after sonnenklar.tv prohibited the use of the logos.

  • DESIGN FHTOURS

    DESIGN FHTOURS

In addition to the redesign of a logo, the design of the fictitious tour operator “FHTours” took place for which FlyHoliday will operate in the future and whose logo adorns the paintwork of FlyHoliday.

  • HUB CHANGE

    HUB CHANGE

Since mid-2024, FlyHoliday has moved its hub from Luxembourg (ELLX) to Amsterdam (EHAM). The background to this is that FlyHoliday is realigning itself locally in order to have an attractive location for long-haul destinations. FlyHoliday Airlines is also moving into the country of its design developer, Rick van Dijck of rAirDesigns.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Is there a financial or points system at FlyHoliday?

No, we focus on pure flying fun! We don’t have any complicated financial or points systems so that you can concentrate fully on flying and the community.

Is there a typerating system at FlyHoliday?

No, at FlyFlyHoliday you fly the aircraft that you know best – without restrictions and without type ratings. Take off directly with your favourite aircraft!

Is there a hub connection with FlyHoliday?

Many virtual airlines stipulate that you must take off from the airport where you last landed.

FlyHoliday is different! You decide where you want to take off from.

Whether you want to fly realistically or not is entirely up to you. No annoying hub binding!

Only Active Pilots, No “Dead Weight“

We prioritize quality over quantity. Only active pilots are part of our roster, ensuring you can rely on a vibrant and engaged community. This is something we highly value. Inactive pilots are removed after a three-step warning system.

Quarterly flight regulation – what is it?

In order to ensure the activity of our pilots, we have introduced a quarterly flight regulation that obliges our pilots to carry out at least 5 flights within a quarter.

The third quarter of the year is always the official summer break, during which the rule is suspended.

If you are unable to carry out your quarterly flights for school, professional or private reasons, you can submit a separate application to our HQ to receive cancellation protection for a quarter.

Three-Step Warning System – what is that?

Our team monitors your activity regularly. If we notice that you are inactive, you will receive three emails at 10-day intervals. In these emails, you will be asked to either complete a flight or provide feedback. If there is no activity or response by the deadline in the third email, your account will be deleted.

What is the target group of FlyHoliday Airlines?

Our airline is aimed at pilots with previous experience who can safely fly an aircraft from our fleet from A to B and are proficient in the applicable IFR procedures.

Beginners in flight simulation?

If you are new to flight simulation, FlyHoliday is unfortunately not the right place for you, as we cannot offer a traditional flight school.

Is the use of FlyHoliday Airlines free of charge?

Yes, the use of FlyHoliday is free of charge. Our modern software and user-friendly interface make flying easy and enjoyable. With a customised version of phpVMS – OperationCenter – and the ACARS software, we offer you seamless flight recording and planning.

What are FlyHoliday Airlines expectations of me?

• Show a willingness for self-study.
• Engage with our community.
• Respond to requests or inquiries from our team.
• Follow our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and rules.
• Complete at least 5 flights per quarter.

Why a Preliminary Discussion When You’re a Member of Other Virtual Airlines?

Since 2020, NordFly Group Airlines has invested thousands of hours of work and over €4,000 in its operations and development. We want to ensure that you actively engage with our community and don’t use FlyHoliday as just a “jump seat airline.”

I’ve flown for other virtual Airlines, will my flights, flight hours, and rank be recognized?

A full official recognition of flight hours, completed flights, and previous ranks is not possible due to fairness toward our pilots. However, we still want to acknowledge your achievements at other virtual airlines. With appropriate proof, you have the option to display these on your profile in the OperationsCenter.
